Island Bay Festival Day

Shorland Park & Surrounds

Reef Street, Island Bay, Wellington 6023, New Zealand

12th Feb 2023

Island Bay Festival 2022 kicks off with a special Festival Day & Variety Show on Saturday 12 February - celebrating our community and the beautiful Bay! Come on down to Shorland Park between 10am-5.30pm to enjoy a market, food stalls, local talent and live music at the park. This will be a day of community and fun, set up to run safely following the current public health rules for outdoor events.

Event starts 10am with a market, food stalls and light music to enjoy in the sun. Then our wonderful community Street Parade will come on down The Parade from the Village at 1pm, arriving at Shorland Park around 1.30. This is followed by the Variety Show with wonderful local talent on the central Band Rotunda. & more live music performances through the afternoon until 5.30pm.

Please note- The "Day in the Bay" big event format of past years isn't happening in 2022 (traditionally on the second Sunday of Feb). So, our Festival team have come up with an alternative event format for Saturday 12th with a local flavour for our community AND to be run safely in the current conditions. This is combining the traditional variety show and street parade with the buzz of a small market day.
