Tapu te Ranga Island Swim

About the event

Love swimming? Up for your next challenge? How about the annual Tapu Te Ranga Island swim hosted by Lyall Bay surf lifesaving club? With two options – a trip by IRB out to Tapu te Ranga Island and swim back, or, the There and Back swim starting at Island Bay beach?

$15 per swimmer for the GIVE IT A GO SWIM
$20 per swimmer for the THERE AND BACK SWIM
Payment is by cash on the day.

Event timings:

GIVE IT A GO
Registration: 8:00 – 8:30am
Safety Briefing: 8:30am
Ferried to Island: 8:45am
SWIM STARTS: 9am

 

THERE & BACK
Registration: 8:00 - 8:30am
Safety Briefing: 8:45am
Walk to Start Line: 8:55am
SWIM STARTS: 9:30am

Notes: 

  • Wetsuits are not compulsory but are highly recommended for swimmers.

  • Swimmers under 12 years of age must be accompanied by a competent adult swimmer and their registration form must be signed by adult.

  • Numbers will be limited to a maximum of 100 swimmers.

  • Swimmers must identify the category that they are entering and once registration has been completed there are no changes.

 

Swim Safety Briefing
Swim safety briefing will take place on beach opposite the Lighthouse House (on The Esplanade) prior to the commencement of ferrying for that wave. All participants must
attend.
