About The Event

The Variety Show follows the Festival Parade and showcases our amazing local talent. Bring along a picnic, and find your seat on the grass and be thoroughly entertained!

12 noon: Terry Shore

Singer / Song writer / soloist 

A well known Wellington based singer/ songwriter/entertainer who has played in various venues such as open mic nights and other gigs for over 25 years.

1pm - 1.30pm: Ryan Solomile

A young Singer/Songwriter with a passion for music and a desire to perform.

1.30pm - 2pm: Betty Jo Smith 

Singer / Song writer / Soloist

Original music Influences are Bene, Billie Eillish, Ruel & also performing a range of covers.

2pm - 2.30pm: Mel Stevenson's Jazz Band

With talent beyond their years, Mel Stevenson’s take on jazz funk will knock your socks off. Playing Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder and other classics, this 5 piece from Wellington High (with a strong south-coast contingent) are sure to entertain.

2.30pm - 3pm: Official Opening

The Parade arrives to the park, with short performances by the Wellington Pipe band and Wellington Batucada, followed by the offical opening by Mayor Andy Foster, Councillor Fleur Fitzsimons, Local MP Paul Eagle & Iwi representative Mark Ormsby.

3pm: World MarudĂ o Karate

Martial Arts demonstration  by the Berhampore based Karate dojo.

3.10pm: Move It Danceworks

Move it Danceworks presents excerpts from the concert last year, showcasing various styles of dance - Jazz, tap and ballet. 

3.20pm: Musical Stars children's theatre

Local Childrens Musical Theatre group with song & dance

3.40pm: The Night

Performing upbeat alt rock, alt pop style including a mix of covers and originals.

4.15pm:  ' Anwyn'

Local Celtic Irish Dance performer will wow us with their fast footwork!

4.30pm - 5pm:  Newtown Tuesday

Four young guys with average age of about 13. Playing a mix of covers plus a couple of originals
