Day in the Bay is back in 2024 and better than ever! Come along on Sunday 11th of February to kick off the beginning of the Island Bay Festival with the parade, bands, food and the blessing of the boats.

Key Events

We are so excited to see you at Day in the Bay! With so many different events for everyone to attend, we have highlighted a few of the key events we know you won't want to miss.

Community Parade

10:00am - 10:45am

Come along and be part of the action at the street parade! Avon Street to Shorland Park.

Food & Markets

10:00am - 5:30pm

Come along and experience food from around the world with some of the regions best food trucks.

While all along the waterfront experience the open air markets.

Beach action

12:30pm - 2:00pm

Come along and join in the seaside action - Tangata Manu/Birdman and Sandcastle competition. Open to kids of all ages!

Blessing of the boats

2:15pm

Witness the tradition that is the Island Bay blessing of the boats. Bringing good luck for the year to all that venture out into the moana.
